Reimagining Mid Century Roots

Our Valle Vista project began with good bones. This mid century modern home, built in 1951, no longer honored the character of its mid century roots. It needed to be corrected and updated. Raelena Vasquez’s desire was to keep the integrity of mid century with an upgrade of modern luxury. The interior’s open floor plan and floor to ceiling windows lent to an opportunity to enhance elegant clean lines of sight.

The addition of textured wall paper allows each room to breathe its own design. There is no reason to be fearful of adding a texture to your room with well thought out wall paper. The wall paper used in this project added beautiful dimension and scale to the space. The intentional use of texture shaped the modern artistic wall decor.

A sofa with chaise lounge covered in a unique huckleberry custom fabric brought a soft and versatile functionality to the living room. The contemporary walnut ottoman table with clean lines perfectly accent the space.

To bring graceful movement in the master bath we swapped out telltale frameless, rectangular builder-grade mirrors with more interesting lavish oval brass mirrors. Luxe rain drop pendants were key to creating a bathroom worthy of a high-end hotel comparison.

We transformed the walls with serious art and an interlocking curved wall paper that created a hand painted textured effect.

Generous decorative spheres, vases, and botanicals were used as unexpected details. They drew earth tones into the glamour of this master bath and complimented the sleek walnut vanities adorned with artful bronze knobs.

The master suite exudes a calming effect with light shades and mid century refinement.
